Position Overview:

As the General Manager of Southeastern Tile Connection, you will oversee all aspects of store operations—including the showroom, warehouse, delivery logistics, and sales team—with direct leadership over the Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, and Showroom Manager. You will be responsible for aligning day-to-day performance with long-term business goals while fostering a strong leadership culture.

This role demands a strategic and hands-on leader who can drive sales, develop leaders, streamline operations, and build lasting relationships with customers and industry partners. A key responsibility will be mentoring and supporting department managers to ensure they can successfully develop and lead their respective teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead all facets of the store’s operations with direct oversight of the Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, and Showroom Manager.
  • Develop, coach, and empower department managers to grow into effective leaders and strengthen their teams.
  • Create and execute short- and long-term strategies that support revenue growth, team performance, and operational efficiency.

Sales & Customer Engagement:

  • Actively engage with key customers and professional trade partners including contractors, designers, and architects.
  • Guide the sales and design teams in delivering an exceptional customer experience and achieving sales targets.
  • Represent Southeastern Tile Connection at local industry events and trade shows to increase brand visibility and drive business development.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee showroom presentation and functionality, ensuring a clean, organized, and inspiring retail environment.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, purchasing decisions, and vendor relationships to support showroom and warehouse needs.
  • Ensure warehouse operations and delivery logistics run smoothly, safely, and on schedule.

Team Development & Culture:

  • Recruit, onboard, and train staff as needed to meet operational and customer service goals.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews with department heads to encourage leadership growth.

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the professional trade community.
  • Build and maintain relationships that support both retail and contractor sales channels.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with executive leadership and other store managers to share best practices and align on company initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular reporting on sales, inventory, staffing, and operations.

Other Duties:

  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by ownership to support the continued growth and success of the store.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of management experience in retail, construction supply, or a related industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop mid-level managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in sales strategy, operational efficiency, and staff development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, POS platforms, and logistics coordination is preferred.
